Milton de Sousa is a Professor at Nova School of Business & Economics, where he previously served as Director of International Development. His latest book, - The Meaningful Leader - (2024), has quickly become a go-to resource for executives seeking to embed purpose and meaning within their organizations in an era of technological disruption.
Milton's diverse career trajectory provides him with a pragmatic and deeply informed perspective. He began his professional journey in 1998 as an Electrical and Computer Engineer in the semiconductor industry, holding various international management positions. Following his MBA, he transitioned into the consulting world, managing projects in innovation, strategy, and human resources for large corporations. This experience inspired him to found his own company dedicated to leadership development, concurrently pursuing his doctorate in management.
His academic leadership roles include serving as Associate Dean for International Development and Partnerships at Nova SBE, as Director of the MBAs at the Rotterdam School of Management, where he earned his PhD, and as Chairman of the - Estoril Conferences - for several years, an international forum on globalization. He joined Nova SBE in 2015 to support its international growth.
Milton holds a PhD from the Rotterdam School of Management, an MBA from the University of Bradford, and a degree in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto. Of his nearly 30-year career, 14 were spent in the Netherlands, gaining invaluable international experience with organizations like Philips Semiconductors, Hay Group, and the Rotterdam School of Management.
An accomplished communicator, Milton is an experienced speaker at a variety of events, including a TEDx talk, and has a significant presence in television and radio. He currently co-hosts a prominent radio program and podcast on Leadership at Observador, sharing his insights with a broad audience.
